Working with a non-governmental organization known as Acción Callejera (Action on The Streets) that provides services to children in vulnerable situations, most of which work on the streets as shoe-shiners, traders, florists, etc. The goal of GCE is to enhance the effectiveness of Acción Callejera’s mission to provide a haven for these children to grow emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually, while taking part in various other projects throughout the community.
GCE at Florida International University
This is GCE’s 15th year at FIU, and each year we strive to bring even more to the children that need our help in DR, and continue to grow in popularity within the FIU community. Participants join us for ten days in the Dominican Republic, providing education and other programming to the children. We work, we play, we reflect, we’ll laugh, we help, we teach, we’ll learn, and we may even cry. We are GCE.
